Girl group BLACKPINK (Jisoo, Jenny, Rosé, Lisa) is preparing a large-scale project to celebrate their 5th anniversary in August.

YG Entertainment first released a poster announcing the start of the project to commemorate the 5th anniversary of BLACKPINK's debut through the official blog at 10 am on the 15th.

Although the specific details have not yet been revealed for so-called '4+1 PROJECT', fans' curiosity and anticipation soared as to what the meaning of the number would be.

The global fans' enthusiasm has already risen. This is because it is expected that the project name implied all the four members of Black Pink and Blink (fandom) and the number of big events they prepared.

YG said, "We have planned various types of projects to meet the love and expectations of many people. The contents will be released sequentially on the 5th anniversary event site (5th.blackpinkofficial.com)."

BLACKPINK captivated the public as soon as they debuted in August 2016. Since then, every song released, such as 'DDU-DU DDU-DU' and 'KILL THIS LOVE', has become a huge hit, establishing itself as a global star.

Thanks to this success, BLACKPINK became the first K-pop girl group to perform on the stage of 'Coachella', the largest music festival in the United States in 2019, and successfully completed 32 world tours in 23 cities on 4 continents and 4 dome tours in 3 cities in Japan.

In addition, the group has expanded his global influence by collaborating with several pop artists such as Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, and Cardi B.

In particular, their first full-length album 'THE ALBUM', released in October of last year, ranked second on the US Billboard 200 and the UK Official Chart, renewing the highest ranking of K-pop girl groups.

Blackpink's influence on YouTube and Spotify is also growing stronger. Blackpink currently has 62.1 million YouTube subscribers, the top female artist in the world.
