Coronavirus infection (Corona 19) is spreading at an alarming rate, affecting the music industry.
BTS canceled the global press conference, which was scheduled to be held at COEX, Samsung-dong, Gangnam-gu in Seoul from 1:45 pm on February. Instead, the conference will be broadcast live on YouTube.
The press conference received a lot of attention because BTS' came back is in 10 months so that various media in and out of Korea were supposed to come.
However, as many people are expected to gather in one place under such a circumstance, Big Hit Entertainment said it is necessary to refrain from gathering large numbers of events in order to prevent spread of current epidemic.
The new boy group UNVS, who was scheduled to debut this day, also canceled the debut showcase. Shay Town Music and SBS Medianet officially announced on the 24th that they will cancel the media showcase. The agency explained, "The decision was made after the deliberation by the government's recommendation to refrain from the gathering of many people due to the current spread of Corona19."
