Seol Kyung Gu and Jeon Do Yeon Star in movie about Sewol Ferry Disaster

South Korean actor Seol Kyung Gu and Jeon Do Yeon are delighted to break down their sensitive feelings as they took parents role in a new movie 'Birthday' that is based on Sewol ferry disaster. 


On the afternoon of the 18th, CGV Yongsan IP Park Mall in Seoul held a premiere of the movie "Birthday" (directed by Lee Jong Eon). Actors Seol Kyung Gu, Jeon Do Yeon and Lee Jong Eun attended the press conference after the premiere.

'Birthday' depicts a story of the remaining people sharing their memories on the birthday of their son, who died on April 16, 2014.

In particular, the two actors gathered their attention on the roles as they are starring in a movie together in 18 years. 

"I was worried about the appearance of the movie and I did not have a schedule to shoot the movie but when I read "Birthday "scenario, so I changed my mind and felt like that I had to this movie even if I change the schedule."

Jeon Do Yeon also said that she had the similar concern on the movie that "I wondered if I could handle the sadness of the story. But as there is a sincerity and truth in the story so that I decided to do this movie."
