S.E.S's Shoo In The Center Of Gambling Rumor

Seoul's eastern provincial prosecutor's office is investigating the case after receiving a complaint alleging Shoo's fraud in July. Two complainants filed a complaint directly with the Eastern District Prosecutors' Office in Seoul last June. According to the statement, Shoo is accused of not paying back 600 million won which she has borrowed due to gambling at a casino.

Shoo has announced that she will pay back the debt. But, there have been witnessing reports of seeing her betting on baccarat worth 80 million won at Yeongjong Island, and a divorce rumor between Shoo and Im Hyo-seong also followed.

In connection with this case, Shoo said that “In this situation where I didn’t know much about the rules of gambling, I lost a lot of money and came to fall under tremendous debt. In this situation, there was the repetition of this vicious cycle. It is true that I have run into a debt of 600 million won (approximately $530,000), but it is not true that I borrowed all that money to gamble it off. It also includes money I borrowed for some other unavoidable reasons. I’m now aware of how scary gambling can be. I will repay the money and will not cause such a stir again.” 

 

Shoo, born in 1981, is a native Japanese. She debuted in 1997 as a member of popular girl group S.E.S, which was one of the most popular girl groups in 1990's. She married Lim Hyo-sung, a former basketball player in 2010. They have three kids.
