Actor Hwang Jung-min revealed that he had asked Kim Je-dong to persuade Lee Hyo-ri to appear in the movie 'Operation' (Director Yoon Jong Bin).

On August 1, Hwang Jeong min told that "In fact, I think it will be hard for Lee Hyori to appear in the film at that time", during an interview with Starnews.

'Operation' (Gong Jak) is a film based on the story of an operative, Black Venus, who passed through North Korea in the 1990s to identify the reality of North Korea's nuclear development. Hwang Jeong min starred as the operative who was granted to shoot a commercial in the North Korea. And Lee Hyori is one of the most popular stars in the movie, and shoot a commercial with Jo Myeong-ae, a dance belongs to the North Mansudae arts group. Thus, Lee Hyo-ri's part was important as much as other actors including Hwang Jung-min, Lee Sung-min, Joo Ji-hoon and Cho Jin-woong. As her cameo is a result of her 2005 television advertisement with North Korean dancer Jo Myung Ae becoming a part of the plot.

Hwang Jung-min said, "It was in the middle of impeachment when shooting the scenes, and that commercial was taken by director Chae Eun-taek (who was also accused of the political interference).

"As I did not know well about Lee Hyo-ri, so I asked her friend Kim Jae-dong to do me a favor. I think I put Jedong in uncomfortable position.", he added.

But, at last, Hyori agreed when the director Yoon sent a hand-written letter.
