BTS Sweeps the World

South Korean idol group BTS (RM, Sugar, Jin, J-hope, JiMin, V, Jungkook) have been writing a new history as the most symbolic idol group from Korea.

BTS became world star receiving AMA award last year in US and is now becoming a unique K pop group in Japan, the starting point of the Korean wave.

In Japan, BTS has reached 'Double Platinum' and received 'Gold Disc Recognition' with by its eighth single album 'MIC Drop / DNA / Crystal Snow' from the Japan Records Association on the 15th of the last month.

The award is given to the artist with more than 500,000 copies sold and BTS is the only sole group who reached this number among overseas artists who released a single in Japan.

This is an incredible record considering the fact that it was released only on December 6th last year and was achieved a mere over a month later. "MIC Drop / DNA / Crystal Snow" has been proving its popularity, securing the top spot immediately for 6 consecutive day after its release, ranking first in the Oricon daily chart and weekly chart in Japan. BTS also took the 13th place in the "Oricon Single Annual Chart 2017" announced at the end of last year. This is the highest rank among K pop artists.

The popularity of bulletproof boys in the United States and Japan is significant. The United States and Japan are the world's largest music markets.
