Eugene, actress and former member of now-defunct idol group SES worried about other artists and colleagues.
In her instagram posting, Eugene said that "I am sad and heartbroken. I did not know him personally, but how hard it was, He just ran hard frontward and did not know how to take a break. I am worried about my colleagues and juniors who are suffering mourning and sorrow for SHINee's Jong hyun". I am praying that my colleagues will overcome this sad pain ..."
Jonghyun was found by police and 119 paramedics in a residence at Cheongdam-dong, Seoul on June 18 at 6:10 pm. At the time of the discovery, a substance that was supposed to be briquettes were burning on a frying pan. Jonghyun was found to be in state of cardiac arrest and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but pronounced dead.
According to the police, Jonghyun was confirmed to have sent a text message that looks like a suicide note to his sister before his death, such as "It was so hard", "Please send me" and "Final farewell".
The police and the surviving families are not planning on autopsy procedures. An official at a police station in Gangnam, Seoul, said on December 19, "It is suicide. As families do not want autopsy, the case will be soon closed"
SM Entertainment set up a separate space for the funeral service in the third floor of the same funeral hall on the first floor so that fans could remember the deceased.
